David Wang
DO
Course Co-Director, Brain & Heart Symposium
Vascular Neurologist, HonorHealth Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute
Dr. David Wang is a board-certified vascular neurologist and internationally respected leader in stroke and cerebrovascular medicine. He currently practices at the HonorHealth Bob Bové Neuroscience Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona, and previously served as Co-Director of the Stroke Program at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
While at Barrow, Dr. Wang co-founded the Brain & Heart Symposium with Dr. Vijay Swarup and Dr. Robert Lemery to bridge neurology and cardiology—creating a unique forum dedicated to understanding how cerebral, cardiac, and autonomic systems interact in health and disease. The symposium has since become a national platform uniting leaders in vascular neurology, electrophysiology, and neuromodulation.
Dr. Wang earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, completed residencies in neurology at Henry Ford Hospital and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and pursued fellowship training in cerebrovascular diseases at the Medical College of Ohio. He is board-certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wang has led multidisciplinary efforts in stroke prevention, acute reperfusion therapy, and cerebral perfusion imaging. He has served as a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials evaluating thrombolytic agents, secondary stroke prevention, and neurovascular outcomes, and has authored peer-reviewed publications on neurovascular imaging and stroke systems of care.
As Co-Director of the Brain & Heart Symposium, Dr. Wang continues to advance the dialogue between neuroscience and cardiology—highlighting how cerebral blood flow, autonomic regulation, and vascular integrity shape cardiac rhythm, cognition, and long-term recovery.
